This always seems to happen to actor's who have played Bond once they have passed the torch on to another actor. George Lazenby did it a number of times, famously once in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Timothy Dalton did it a few years back with the animated movie Looney Toones: Back in Action. Now Pierce Brosnan is set to do it in the movie Spy vs. Stu. What am I talking about exactly.... well what all three guys have in common is playing a spy character in a comedy film which is an obvious parody of their former portrayl of James Bond. The Hollywood Reporter are saying that former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan will star and also produce Spy vs. Stu, a comedy where his character (a debonair spy) has just finished saving the world and takes a fancy to a hot women. Problem is that woman has a regular boyfriend (Stu) who the handsome spy must compete aganist to win her affection. Movie doesn't sound to bad, but I always get the feeling when actors play roles almost paroyding themselves that they have become very bitter about something. Is this Brosnan trying to show the world that he could have still played the Bond character for a few more years, or is it just a pathetic attempt to relive the glory days. I'm going with the latter. source - the hollywood reporter, coming soon
