Captain Marvel: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

Some 11 months after Nick Fury paged her in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel has arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although before she can help deal with Thanos and the Decimation, there's her own origin story to sort out first.
Captain Marvel takes us back to the 1990s - 1995, to be specific - which is a simpler period for the MCU: a time before Iron Man and the Avengers, when Captain America was still on ice, and a fall from space crash-landed in Blockbuster Video rather than the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Captain Marvel doesn't particularly break the mould in the MCU, but it also doesn't really need to. It's a strong, if flawed, introduction to the character, and the ending means Carol Danvers is only going to go higher, further, faster baby.
