Carrie Remake Teaser Trailer Released

http://youtu.be/tBySP7UutgE The first footage from the upcoming remake (or second cinematic adaptation, if you like) of Stephen King's pulp hit Carrie has just turned up in the form of a minute-long teaser trailer. And if the teaser's ominous tracking shot is anything to go by, director Kimberly Peirce's interpretation of teenage angst and psychic powers means more than just a burned down gymnasium this time around. By the looks of things, the entire town has been affected in near-apocalptic proportions by the festering emotions of teenage telekinetic Carrie (this time played by Chloe Moretz). I guess that's the natural progression when you have CGI at your fingertips. The original novel tells the story of unpopular, bullied school girl Carrie White who - as she hits puberty - comes to learn that she is kind of psychic, although by no means in control of her powers at all. Her mother (Julianne Moore in the remake), a strict Christian and all-round bad guy, abuses Carrie physically and emotionally, and... well, let's just say it doesn't end very well for anybody. Brian De Palma's original movie adaptation of King's novel was a massive hit in the 70s and is often considered one of the greatest horror films ever made. It also starred John Travolta in a small role. We hope the remake doesn't make that inclusion.
