Ex-Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has told MovieHole.net that he feels Marvel lied to him when they promised he would be their go-to-guy whenever the time came for Nick Fury to return to the big screen. For those of you that don't know, The Hoff played the character later made famous by Samuel L Jackson (who began cameoing in Marvel movies as the character with 2008's "Iron Man" that led up to "The Avengers"). in a 1998 made for TV movie called "Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D", and he feels that his portrayal - which was heavily endorsed by Stan Lee - is the "ultimate" take on the eye-patch wearing Marvel bad ass.
"I haven't seen Avengers yet. I love Sam, but y'know ... my Nick Fury was the organic Nick Fury before anyone got in there to change it. Stan Lee said: You are the ultimate Nick Fury".
Despite his claims of being wronged by the comic book giants Hasselhoff says he is open to appearing in any future projects, even joking that he could play Jackson's long lost brother Dick Fury. For now, Samuel L Jackson can rest easy, he isn't about to be usurped by Germany's top recording artist - but just think how different "The Avengers" would have been with David Hasselhoff leading the troops into battle?
