Do I have the Stopping Power to hault this movie?

Stopping Power, a John Cusack led movie which I dubbed in May as a 'boring thriller' which we see Cusack film so many of right now has added two more to it's cast. Jason Isaacs and Melissa George, hardly two actors who are going to elevate this material into anything other than straight-to-dvd quality (although I do quite like Isaacs actually in truth). The movie is the latest from Jan De Bont and his first for four years since Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life. De Bont is the guy who had one mega hit on his hands in 1994 with Speed but he could never follow it up with a good film to match it after Twister, Speed 2, The Haunting and Lara Croft all were terrible.

Cusack plays a man who races to rescue his kidnapped daughter. Isaacs will play Cusack's nemesis, and George will portray Cusack's girlfriend. The film is slated to enter production in Berlin next month.
It's been three months now since we heard about this movie and still the best synopsis they can giveus is that it's about a guy who races to rescue his kidnapped daughter. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing about who this guy is and there looks to be no sub-plots in sight. De Bont has given us nothing to get excited about for over a decade now and Cusack is one of my favourite actors... but I've seen him do this kind of role one too many times now. This one is shaping up to be a dud. source - variety
