Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn has taken part in a Q&A session on Facebook, and revealed that he has seen a cut of Captain America: Civil War. The verdict? "Incredible, it's one of the best Marvel movies ever... can't believe what a wonderful job the Russo brothers did." Definitely comforting to hear! Gunn also mentioned his approval of Tom Holland as Spider-Man - whilst obviously not able to say much, he did say that Holland was "off the charts awesome" and "hand on my heart amazing". His emphasis on these sentences strikes me to believe him as opposed to Gunn simply being another working part of the Marvel hype machine. The more we see and hear of Civil War, the more inclined I am to think we're in for a treat. That said, I think it's important that fans realise that we are getting a Civil War adaptation in broad strokes only; this film is clearly taking the concept and one or two key details, and filling in the rest of the blanks itself.
Captain America: Civil War is released in the UK on 29th April 2016 and in the US on 6th May.
