I hope you caught Easy A's theatrical run last month, a wholly enjoyable comedy that was smart, witty, funny and I think will prove to be the birth of a bonafide star in Emma Stone, who I said in my review "You see early Julia Roberts here, at an age two years younger than she made Pretty Woman". Stone, as a blondie will give the wide eyes to Peter Parker as Gwen Stacy when she films the Spider-Man reboot next month but rather than jumping into to many tentpoles too soon, she is smartly looking to quickly re-team with her Easy A director Will Gluck for another comedy at Screen Gems. No plot details or even a title has been leaked yet, but we do know Gluck is currently finishing off the screenplay he wants to direct next summer, just after Stone is done with the web-slinger. Strangely Easy A scribe Bert V. Royal isn't on board to make this a full reunion and as far as I can tell this would be Gluck's first feature film writing job and with Screen Gems so keen to get Stone/Gluck working together again, let's hope that script is as solid as it needs to be to work as a worthy follow-up.Gluck is currently in post-production on Friends With Benefits, the sex comedy that Stone has a supporting role in - one of three 2011 movies you will see the actress in next year. The others being Stupid. Crazy. Love. (a family comedy led by Steve Carrel with Julianne Moore and Ryan Gosling) and The Help (a drama based on the best-selling book by Kathryn Stockett about a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer and shocks her Missipi Town by interviewing members of the Black community).
