Hot Fuzz for the fourth time at the weekend, it's quickly become one of my geekiest favourite films of 2007. I love what Edgar Wright has achieved with his two feature films to date, two great movies with homages to about 100 different types of genre's along with a distinct direction style and some of the cleverest and tightest scripts I've ever seen. It really takes you two or three times before you actually get in tune with some of the subtle hints towards what's coming later in the movie. Just fantastic. I love movies that are in love with movies. So Wright seems to be taking a break from his Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy. We know he has working on his script for Ant-Man for Marvel but today's news from The Hollywood Reporter would suggest he is going to tackle Scott Pilgrim's Little Life first...

Michael Cera is in final negotiations to star in Scott Pilgrim's Little Life for Universal. "Life" tells the story of a young slacker (Cera) who meets the woman of his dreams but finds that he can only win her heart by battling and defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends.
I've never read the Oni Press graphic novel upon this movie will be based but it's got a HUGE adult following and I know Wright's been trying to make this movie for a long while. Although I'm desperate to see Wright take on a big budget Marvel superhero, I'm just as happy to see Wright get a project underway. He's such an exciting director and you know sometimes when you hear of an American/English comedy duo who come together and you think... that ain't gonna work (Schwimmer & Pegg anyone?), this partnership of Edgar Wright and Michael Cera is exactly the opposite. Only one word for it... PERFECT!
