How do you round out an already exciting cast made up of acting talents such as Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Mark Strong? Why, you get noted pop icon Elton John to sign on for a role, of course - something that is apparently happening (for real) for the upcoming sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service sequel, subtitled "The Golden Circle."

According to TheHollywood Reporter, Elton John -best known for writing and performing hits such as "Your Song," "The Circle of Life" and his collection of amusing glasses - is in talks to join the ranks for Matthew Vaughn's spy parody follow-up.

The last time we saw Elton John in a movie, he appeared in a cameo role in the 1997 travesty that was Spice World. It's arguably the worst cameo appearance in the history of the medium, given that it literally involves John bumping into the Spice Girls, saying hello and that, and then just sort of walking off.

For anyone who thought that a cameo required you to at least do "something memorable," this is the one that disapproved such a theory.

Is John going to play himself? Is he going to play a proper role and attempt to do some real acting? The latter would be hilarious and surreal in equal measure. I'm also convinced that having Elton John standing next to Colin Firth, doing his lines, just might turn out to be the strangest thing to have happened in cinema for a long, long time.
