Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them - The Female Lead Shortlist

Who's going to get to act alongside Eddie Redmayne?

J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is beginning to take shape. Harry Potter director David Yates is on board, the Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne is going to be playing magiczoologist lead Newt Scamander and now the casting net has been thrown wider - according to The Wrap, Warner Bros. have narrowed down the choice for the two female leads to a handful of actors. There's two key female characters the studio is looking to cast - Tina and her older sister Queenie. Who are they? Who knows outside of Rowling. The film (and its planned two sequels) are set seventy years or so before the main Harry Potter series, detailing the antics of one of the boy who lived's schoolbook's writers, and thus very little's known about what the plot(s) will entail (although you can expect lots of weird, wonderful and maybe a bit fantastic beasts). What we do know is the actresses who are being circled to star. Shortlisted for Tina is Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Alison Sudol (singer A Fine Frenzy), Dakota Fanning (child star of War Of The Worlds and Twilight) and Lili Simmons (erm... she was in a couple of episodes of True Detective), while Queenie will be any of Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) and Kate Upton (the model-cum-actress). A real mixed bag of talent, but at least gives an idea of the characters' ages. Who would you like to see star in the Harry Potter world expansion? Any guesses at the plot?
