"You gave her wings?!"

As promised by the Black Panther red (well, purple) carpet, the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp has arrived, picking things up with Scott Lang post- Captain America: Civil War.

The trailer does kick-off with a throwback to that event, and we see how Scott's actions led to Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne going on the run. Indeed, a lot of the trailer centres on Hope, who becomes the titular Wasp of the movie (as teased by the credits stinger of the first Ant-Man).

As you'd expect, there's a lot of shrinking and enlarging superhero shenanigans, and a great look at the Wasp in action. Based on these early glimpses of her abilities, audiences are going to be buzzing when they see her on the big screen. I'm not even sorry. Paul Rudd, of course, continues to be a God among us mere mortals, and gets the best lines of the trailer.

The music choice is a little jarring, but apart from that looks like a lot of fun, with a refreshing focus on small-scale events rather than the end of the world.
