George Miller officially off JUSTICE LEAGUE
Although with the movie adaptation being dead in the water for months, this news has been obvious to everyone for such a long time but in any event, today Aussie director George Miller confirmed on the Sydney-based talk show "Sunrise" that he is no longer working on the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie in any capacity at WB. Miller had been given the task of directing the proposed team-up movie during the late summer of last year but once Christmas time came and it was still stalling, it was obvious that WB were giving up on the project which by then they had spend a good deal of money on with lots of pre-production stages completed and casting places filled. The negative fan reaction to the whole idea of a JUSTICE LEAGUE film at this stage of the DC Comics on Screen canon played a huge part in it's demise, a lot of it stemming from the casting of young and mostly inexperienced actors in their 20's but Miller believes that wouldn't happen again if the project did ever get revived.
"the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now."Miller also told the station that he hasn't yet given up hope of Mel Gibson agreeing to do his MAD MAX 4 script that he completed and Mel originally declined to do. source - dark horizons
