Guy Ritchie is no longer Static

By Matt Holmes /

The Hollywood Reporter are telling us that Guy Ritchie has been booted off from the gangster movie Static. Normally I would say "Excellent, you have come to your senses" but they have replaced him with Sylvain White. White is the director of the Number 1 U.S. Box Office hit Stomp the Yard which everyone absolutely crapped on and previously helmed the straight-to-dvd release I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
Static centers around a wrongly imprisoned gangster, who along with his loyal followers, must make their way across town through rival gangs and bent cops in order to testify against the dirty crooks who put him away.
Hey, I'm not just hating on Guy Ritchie because it's the popular thing to do after Revolver disgusted, angered and confused audiences globally. I've never been a fan of the guy, there's something about his style of film-making I absolutely loathe. I'll admit, Snatch has some inspired moments of genius but there's way to much fluff in the film for me. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells is vastly over-rated and god knows what he was thinking when he helmed his wife in Swept Away. So at this point, 17 months after Revolver's release, the amount of known project's Ritchie has in development...... NONE. source - the hollywood reporter, cinematical
