Harley Quinn: Margot Robbie's Still Making Her Own SEPARATE Movie

Even more DCEU movies are coming!

Warner Bros.

Despite the concerns ahead of Justice League's release that everything else on the DCEU slate was very much up in the air depending on how well the ensemble did for Warner Bros, it seems that their still steaming on with their other properties. The Rock has just wished the Shazam! team good luck and now news has emerged that Margot Robbie is still developing her own separate Harley Quinn movie.

That's on top of the links for Harley to Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens AND the Harley Quinn/Joker movie that are all supposedly in various stages of development. There can be no doubt that we won't see all of them, and it just remains to be seen how Warner Bros move forward with her.

That would seem to include Robbie's movie though, as she's just spoken to MTV about her project: “I’ve been working on a separate spinoff Harley thing for a while,” she said. And when she was pressed on whether this is the same project as either Gotham City Sirens or the Harley/Joker movie, she was firm: “No. It’s a totally separate one" as well as confirming that DC's slate is a little uncertain at the minute:

“There’s a lot going on right now and I’m not sure. I, honestly, I don’t think anyone knows what’s going to be the next thing to happen. But I think everyone’s keen to get Harley back on screen, so everyone is working on lots of different versions of what that could be.”

And by the sound of it, she has a pretty clear vision of what she wants from her Harley:

“I wanna see her with other women. I was like, I kept saying it we were shooting Suicide Squad. I was like, ‘she needs her girlfriends. She needs other girls around her because she loves that.’ You’ve seen it in the comics. You’ve seen that she loves meeting people, any people, but she needs a little girl gang.”

That definitely sounds like Gotham City Sirens, and while Robbie claims it's a different project entirely, it really wouldn't be that surprising if we only got to see one of them. Let's hope which ever one emerges is the right choice.
