Here's What MAN OF STEEL Is About, Officially...

So yeah very much the story that we would expected to have come from the minds of David Goyer (who wrote Batman Begins) and producer Christopher Nolan..

We've known for many moons now that Zack Snyder's currently filming Man of Steel would be an origins movie about our favourite alien hero becoming Superman after going on a journey of discovering himself as Clark Kent (rejecting the call of the hero & his powers... and all that) before rising up when he is needed to save the world, but now thanks to an extras casting call out in Vancouver, we now have an official Warner Bros released plot synopsis;
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
So yeah very much the story that we would expected to have come from the minds of David Goyer (who wrote Batman Begins) and producer Christopher Nolan. Of course the threat of the planet will come from Michael Shannon's General Zod (coolest comic book villain casting in years?) and his sidekick Faora, played by Antje Traue. No Lex Luthor for this one, seemingly, and boy are we thankful for that. Why Zod has come to Earth will probably be explained in a more meaty plot release later. Man of Steel is filming now for a June 14th, 2013 release. Henry Cavill is the Man of Steel, a blonde haired Amy Adams is Lois Lane and they star alongside Diane Lane (Ma Kent) Kevin Costner (Pa Kent), Russell Crowe (Jor-El), Julia Ormond (Lara Lor-Van) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White)
