Intriguing New Prometheus Images Hit The Web

Just when you thought Bond and Batman had the spotlight, Ridley Scott's Not-Quite-So-Alien-Prequel enters the room again.

Well after James Bond and The Dark Knight Rises slipped out some new and teasing images today, the big daddy of 2012 excitement that is Ridley Scott's Prometheus rolls in with a collection of great new stills, one of which which shows some sort of weird wall mural (which will no doubt look great in 3D). I'm not sure what to make of this image above. It's almost religious in it's design, echoing the Sistine Chapel or something and seems to depict a human form merging away or into what seems to be a more alien figure. Whatever it is, it's amazingly interesting and possibly an image that forms when Shaw looks upon the ceiling in the 'Face' room and even more than likely the image that causes a tear to fall down her cheek in the trailer. "Are you seeing this Prometheus?" Anyway that's the image that's the show stealer but the other three ain't half bad either.... The shot of the Prometheus itself is great and the holographic scan of the mountain is more of the same sort of thing we've seen in those great trailers but the wider shot of the 'Face' and the room full of containers never gets any less striking and as the visual centrepiece to this movie's advertising campaign it seems to be effective no matter the angle. Enjoy the images and feel free to give your opinions on them below. I'll leave it there before it turns into another 2,500 word essay about what exactly these new images might mean and how they've changed/added to my existing theories about this movie but let's just be say every day that I wake up and it's not June 1st is another day of disappointment.
