James Bond: Idris Elba WON'T Be The Next 007
This will surely stop all the rumours...
Rumours over who will be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig continue to swirl, but one person it won't be is Idris Elba, at least according to the actor himself.
Elba has been linked to the role for what feels like forever, but with Craig's tenure approaching its end talk has increased over his potential involvement. For his part, Elba has mostly seemed content to play coy and laugh along with things but, asked directly by Good Morning Britain if he's the next 007, he gave a simple, one-word response: "No."
There is always the chance that Elba is deliberately misleading people in order to keep his casting under wraps, or because a deal might not have been completed - and let's not forget there is still a current Bond, so any actor might not want to speak about their involvement until that's done with - but he does at least appear to be being truthful here. The franchise recently lost Bond 25 director Danny Boyle, and finding his replacement is of greater importance right now than finding Craig's anyway.
