James Gunn Might Actually Give Mark Hamill A Role In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardian of a galaxy far, far away.
Now that he's (mostly) freed up from Star Wars, pending a ghostly return in Episode IX, Mark Hamill is pitching to join another major space fantasy franchise.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Hamill said he'd be up for talking about a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with its director James Gunn, who suggested they have a cup of coffee and see what they can do.
It started off quite jokingly but, by the end of the Twitter conversation, seemed a little more serious and like a discussion could take place at the very least.
It may or may not happen, but it'd certainly be the kind of thing both Gunn and Hamill would do - Guardians 2, after all, featured a cameo from David Hasselhoff, which is far weirder than this. Hamill, even in just a cameo, would easily fit into the Guardians world and match well with Gunn's sensibilities.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled for release in 2020, though no specific date has been set. Aside from the possibility of Hamill, it's believed that the character Adam Warlock will at last make his proper MCU debut in the movie, while Gunn has also said it'll expand the cosmic universe and set up the next 10-20 years of Marvel movies.
