James Wan's Bad-Ass Aquaman Has A Treatment Already

Time is ticking on for the Man Who Speaks With The Fishes...

Not long ago, Aquaman looked a little rudderless. There was no writer, the director was being linked with another high-profile walk-out from a DC movie, and the character was still something of a joke compared to his Justice League co-members.

A lot has now changed. Will Beall has been hired to script. James Wan is still firmly involved, and most importantly, the whisky-necking, grumpy bad-ass from the Justice League teaser all of a sudden looks like a great prospect.

Plus, Beall isn't flying blind on his script, because, as THR's report announcement confirmed, James Wan and Geoff Johns have actually already written a treatment for the film. That means it has a plot, if not all of its details, which Beall will be expected to write more complex details and dialogue into. It also means production shouldn't be too far behind the expected kick-off date following Justice League's wrap up in London.

Hopefully we'll see more of the portrayal of Arthur Curry as a full-blooded bad-ass alongside Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
