While the talk of Spider Man joining The Avengers in Phase 3 or 4 has considerably died down, the talk of the town instead has been the Sinister Six. By now everyone has at some point in time heard of the rumors surrounding the production of The Amazing Spider Man 2 and the future sequels for 2016 and 2018. The idea of the Sinister Six making an appearance is engrained in the minds of fans all around. And with a small production photo of Avi Arad sitting underneath a vinyl that says Sinister Six, everything else is but a rumor in the wind. Until recently, with an interview of Jamie Foxx (and Channing Tatum) and he himself confirming that there has been talks of the Sinister Six being involved this whole time. According to Jamie Foxx, he had this to say about the possibilites of his character in TASM2, Electro, potentially joining the Sinister Six: "Yes, they actually talked about it, the Sinister Six. So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it, electricity never dies, it just goes to a different place, so..." Very openly stated, yet very subtle. During the interview, Channing Tatum even expressed his interest in playing a superhero (or perhaps villain?) in the near future, openly stating that Gambit is his biggest hero and that he would love to have the opportunity of portraying Remi LeBeau aka Gambit. At this point, curiosity has taken over. Even though brief, the interview raises more questions, but provides an answer to the ever-looming debate of whether or not the Sinister Six will show up. According to Foxx, the team behind TASM2 has and is considering it. Which means Spider Man could be in a world of trouble when the sequels roll around the corner. The electricity of this subject (see what I did there?) has probably run dry right about now, but the implication of the Sinister Six still remains an intriguing play by interest. I'm sure the idea of them making their grand appearance started when Rhino was announced as a secondary villain, with both him and Electro being original members of the evil six-man team. Add the addition of Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, played by Chris Cooper, and you've got three, but still missing three. And with the Ravencroft Institute set to take place in TASM2, it may appear that Foxx just threw the biggest bone to the fans yet by confirming the activity going on behind the scenes. Below is the following interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tXJgpTpnPEc Is this subject too old to keep interest, or has Jamie Foxx deliberately, maybe even accidentally, set a new fire that will reignite it? Would you guys still like to see the Sinister Six appear? And what about Channing Tatum proclaiming his interest in playing Gambit? Even that opens a few eyes. Feel free to discuss it below.
