Jean Grey Returns In The Wolverine Trailer!

By Shaun Munro /

Director James Mangold has posted the first - albeit very brief - footage of his much-anticipated blockbuster, The Wolverine on his Twitted feed (embedded below). Fans are no doubt going to be poring over this for every possible detail until the 20-second teaser comes out tomorrow (followed by a full trailer on Wednesday), but from what we can see, yes, that does appear to be Famke Janssen's Dr. Jean Grey in one shot. Whether this is re-cycled footage or something entirely new remains to be seen; we can only hope for the latter! The comic arc the film is adapting takes Wolverine to Japan, and here we get our first quick glimpse at some of those locations; of what can be discerned from the flash of footage - lots of claw vs. sword action, Wolverine being trapped in some sort of contraption, and him flying through the air, claws at the ready. After the mess that was Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, one can only hope that this is back to what we love to see Wolverine doing - kicking ass in style. The Wolverine hits cinemas bang in the middle of Summer blockbuster season - July 26th, and will be released in both 3D and conventional 2D. Starring alongside Hugh Jackman as the title character will be Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
