Jeff Bridges goes bald for Obadiah Stane

By Matt Holmes /

IESB, as well as being the first to scoop the news that Jeff Bridges would be the villain in the Iron Man movie, have really outdone themselves this time by posting an image of the man himself, with his new hair cut (of lack of it) to match the look of his character in the movie. At this point in production on both The Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider there was already a lot of us rather worried about the movie, but at the time of writing I can honestly say that 89% of what Favreau has done has been spot on. Here's a quick run down of what we know about Iron Man... Jon Favreau is directing the movie, with four different guys credited as scriptwriting the movie. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Terrence Howard (Jim Rhodes), Jeff Bridges (Obadiah Stane) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) have all been cast for the movie. The Mandarin has yet to be cast, that's of course if he is going to be in the movie which now could be in doubt as we know Bridges' role is going to be a big one and Favreau's comments about "that rounds out the ensemble" some weeks ago. Shooting is set to begin sometime this month in California (if it hasn't already) for a release May 2nd 2008. A lot of Iron Man's suit will be CGI, with Downey Jr. providing motion capture work some months after filming has wrapped. The film is been made with the mindset of a three movie arc, with the actors all being signed up for a trilogy. Plot is being kept fairly well under-wraps but with the use of Obadiah Stane, there are certainly plenty of hints, as outlined by IESB. There is no doubt this going to be a more darker superhero movie, probably more in line with Daredevil. The only niggles I have is Paltrow's casting and the worry of too much CGI. source - iesb
