Joseph Gordon-Levitt is currently developing a remake of Little Shop of Horrors, in which he will take the lead as timid florist Seymour, who cultivates a plant by feeding it human blood. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who wrote stage musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark and is a writer/producer on Glee, will write the script for the remake, while Marc Platt, who produced musical Nine and music-focused Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, will produce. Couple these with Gordon-Levitts well-documented musical leanings, including his performance of Make Em Laugh, from Singin In The Rain, on SNL, and it is likely that this will be a musical as well. The original Little Shop of Horrors was made by Roger Corman in 1960 as a non-musical B-movie, before it was later adapted into an Off Broadway musical of the same name. That, in turn, was adapted into the more widely-known 1986 screen musical, starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist. The film is yet to find a director, and is still in its early stages, which is lucky for Gordon-Levitt, who has four films on the horizon (The Dark Knight Rises, Looper, Lincoln and Premium Rush), not to mention the recent announcement of his feature directorial debut, Don Jons Addiction which is likely to keep him busy. Gordan-Levitt will next be seen as John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, which is released on 20 July.
