Joseph Gordon-Levitt is currently developing a remake of Little Shop of Horrors, in which he will take the lead as timid florist Seymour, who cultivates a plant by feeding it human blood. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who wrote stage musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark and is a writer/producer on Glee, will write the script for the remake, while Marc Platt, who produced musical Nine and music-focused Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, will produce. Couple these with Gordon-Levitt€™s well-documented musical leanings, including his performance of Make €˜Em Laugh, from Singin€™ In The Rain, on SNL, and it is likely that this will be a musical as well. The original Little Shop of Horrors was made by Roger Corman in 1960 as a non-musical B-movie, before it was later adapted into an Off Broadway musical of the same name. That, in turn, was adapted into the more widely-known 1986 screen musical, starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist. The film is yet to find a director, and is still in its early stages, which is lucky for Gordon-Levitt, who has four films on the horizon (The Dark Knight Rises, Looper, Lincoln and Premium Rush), not to mention the recent announcement of his feature directorial debut, Don Jon€™s Addiction which is likely to keep him busy. Gordan-Levitt will next be seen as John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, which is released on 20 July.
