Justice League: 10 Must-See New Details About The Film Revealed During Justice Con
Would Zack Snyder really "burn" the movie before using any footage Joss Whedon shot?
Had the world been normal, this past weekend would have been one full of major new trailer debuts and internet-breaking news item at the San Diego Comic-Con. Instead, the virtual Comic-Con@Home was an underwhelming affair, with little in the way of anything actually worth talking about. The fan-organised Justice Con, however, has really shaken things up.
Designed to celebrate all things Justice League (the version being released on HBO Max next year, not the one Joss Whedon reshot most of back in 2017), the likes of director Zack Snyder, producer Deborah Snyder, and stars Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Ray Porter (Darkseid) were all on hand to share plenty of new details about the "Snyder Cut."
That included more details on Fisher's allegations against Whedon, news on what will be revealed at the upcoming DC FanDome event, and intel on everything from new scenes to Why Snyder would rather destroy his Justice League than use anything that was reshot. If you're among those who wanted Warner Bros. to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, there's an awful lot here to get really excited about.
That 15-second clip of Henry Cavill in the black Superman suit was obviously one big talking point, but arguably pales in comparison to some of the comments made during this virtual event's panels...
10. A "Snyder Cut" Scene Featuring Wonder Woman And Lois Lane
When Joss Whedon boarded Justice League, he not only reshot almost all of Superman's scene, but completely reshaped the project in his image. Ultimately, it felt like there was more of his work in there than Zack Snyder's, and that's obviously a huge part of what led to fans campaigning for Warner Bros. to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
During a Justice Con panel with producer Deborah Snyder, she shared details on one deleted scene which will now be included in the Snyder Cut, and it revolves around Wonder Woman and Lois Lane.
"It's a scene where Diana visits Lois after Clark's death and she's been, you know, not going out and it's just very supportive scene because even though she's lost her house, she's coming there not to ask for help, but to help Lois," Deborah explained. "I can't wait and you'll get to see that scene."
If this is any indication, Zack clearly planned on devoting more time to Superman's death, a plot point Whedon mostly glossed over until it was time to bring the Man of Steel back from the dead.
