Lionsgate have other ideas on CONAN director, is it going to land with Marcus Nispel?

Over the weekend we heard from Chud that V for Vendetta director James McTeigue was to land the job of replacing Brett Ratner on the directing gig for the new Conan reboot, but now the site claim to have some more information suggesting that although McTeigue is the firm choice for producers Nu Image/Millenium Films, distributor Lionsgate have other names in mind. They have a list of names they want for the film and McTeigue is not included... Christophe Gans (Silent Hill, Brotherhood of the Wolf) who is a pretty damn good choice I have to say. He is a great genre director and is visually spectacular... Neil Marshall (Doomsday, The Descent) who is busy right now making Centurion, a swords and sandals roman epic which has no doubt caught the eye of Lionsgate... Marcus Nispel (Pathfinder, Friday the 13th). From the sites wording, they say Nispel is being "aggressively pursued" and is now the favourite to land the gig, once again a guy whose movies can look great at times but just have no substance. They say it could be his film by the end of the week. Out of all the choices, I would have gone for Gans to make the best movie but possibly not the most commercial. Production is suppose to begin in Bulgaria this August and at the end of the day, anyone is better than Ratner, right?
