Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Nearly Looked VERY Different In Suicide Squad
The Maid of Mischief so nearly sported an entirely different costume in the 2016 movie.
While Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is currently gearing up to return to the silver screen in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), a timely behind-the-scenes Suicide Squad image has surfaced online that shows how the Maid of Mischief was originally planned to have an entirely different look for David Ayer’s 2016 movie.
Originally posted by Ayer himself before being quickly removed, Reddit user AldebaranTauro has shared the image out for those who may have missed it.
Clearly, this is a vastly different costume to the one seen worn by Robbie’s Harley Quinn throughout the majority of Suicide Squad.
Pulling inspiration from certain comic book runs for the character, this early tester for Harleen’s outfit is certainly a good look. Is it better than the get-up Quinn sported in Suicide Squad, though? That’s up to you to decide.
The pigtails, ‘PUDDIN’ collar, and her trusty bat were all retained for Suicide Squad, although the rest of the outfit seems almost entirely different to what we eventually saw on-screen in 2016.
We already known that Robbie’s Harley Quinn will be changing up her look once more for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) when that opens worldwide on February 7th – and chances are she’ll have yet another new look by the time James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad arrives in August 2021.
