Mark Helfrich's debut rom-com movie Good Luck Chuck starring Jessica Alba and Dane Cook doesn't open in the U.S. for a few short weeks but the editor turned director is already focused on what his next picture will be. Variety say that Heflich will direct FiveKillers for Lionsgate from a script by Bob DeRosa. The movie will center around a hitman whose seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when the past begins to catch up with him. I have to admit, I do like my movies about hitman and one which just doesn't involve Timothy Olyphant in any way shape or form can only be a good thing. Before directing Good Luck Chuck, Helfrich worked as an editor for most of Brett Ratner's movies (including X-Men 3 and Rush Hour 3 most recently) and was actually working as far back as the mid 80's on flicks like Rambo: First Blood Part II and Predator. He's certainly paid his dues and although Good Luck Chuck looks like a one to miss, Five Killers might be a movie that puts him on the map.
