The Hollywood Reporter says Dillon will star as Leonard Chess in Cadillac Records, a Sony/MGM film about the rise and fall of Chess Records a label that launched the careers of such R&B greats as Muddy Waters, Etta James and Chuck Berry. The title Cadillac Records comes from the fact that Chess sold records from the back of his Cadillac whilst touring the blues scenes in the South. Darnell Martin has wrote the screenplay and will direct the piece starting in January, with New Jersey and Chicago the locations. Sounds pretty cool to me. I do think Dillon is way better than the majority of films he has starred in other the last decade and when he is giving something to work with like he was in Crash, then he can really show us how talented he really is. Oh and for those wondering the other interesting movie he is doing is not Old Dogs (which I think might be ok suprisingly) but Tetro, his reunion movie with Francis Ford Coppola who propelled Dillon into stardom in the 80's with Rumble Fish and The Outsiders.
