McGregor & Williams team up for Incendiary

By Matt Holmes /

Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams are to team together for the movie Incendiary, a $10 million contemporary drama set around the aftermath of a fictional suicide bombing in London. More info from Dark Horizons... Adapted from Chris Cleave's novel, the story follows a woman whose life is torn apart when her husband and infant son are killed in a suicide bombing at a soccer match. Making matters worse is that she was having an affair at the time. Michelle Williams is said women, with McGregor being the journalist she is having an affair with. Matthew Macfayden from Spooks and the recent Pride and Prejudice adaptation plays the ex-boss of the dead husband who just happens to be an anti-terroist senior police officer and who has fallen in love with Michelle Williams's character. Producer Andy Patterson said of the flick... "We fought hard for the rights to this story because it seemed to us to be a stunningly original, visceral and ultimately life-affirming response to the world we now inhabit. Sharon's screenplay captures the startling humor of Chris Cleave's extraordinary novel, and we're blessed with our dream cast and financing partners, who represent a vision of the future for our battered industry". Tis a strange movie isn't it? A love traingle built around a suicide bombing at a soccer match? Interestingly Sharon Maguire, who hasn't directed a film since the first Bridget Jones' Diary is helming the flick, which might point to the movie being more on the comedy side of the love triangle.... but who knows? Intriguing concept and fine cast. Potentially, this could be real good. source - dark horizons, cinematical
