Mel Gibson says Maverick sequel is likely to happen?

By Matt Holmes /

Mel Gibson is often one to talk a lot of bullshit in interviews, and if you believed every word he has ever said... then his whole career would be lined up for a sequel. Nevertheless, I shall keep reporting it. The latest movie from his back catalogue that he says a sequel is planned for, is the Richard Donner directed Western comedy Maverick. I haven't seen the movie myself and I'm a little ashamed to say that with it being a Donner movie and starring Gibson, James Garner, Jodie Foster, Alfred Molina and James Coburn. This is what Gibson told Hollywood.com found through Dark Horizons... There's talk of doing another Maverick. Garner and I have been looking at that for a while. It'd be fun to play that character again.
"I think audiences would probably like to see him again too. We really cooked the first time. We've got some great ideas--I think audiences will enjoy what we've got in mind. It won't be happening immediately, but I dare say, it'll happen"
For those of you who have seen it, would you please care to enlighten us to how good the flick is? Is it worth putting on my DVD Blog queue perhaps?
