Michael Caine appeared on BBC radio today and revealed that he will begin shooting his scenes for The Dark Knight Rises next week but it doesn't sound like the presenters got anything more out of him. Batman on Film carry the news but I'm not sure what show he was on. Without going into spoilers, pretty much every other day I've been getting emails from people telling me they know something about a significant sub-plot to do with Alfred in the next movie but I don't know if it's true and I'm certainly not going to repeat it here. But any more appearances from Caine's Alfred in the movie can only be a good thing... there's no scene in the franchise to date that he's appeared in which he doesn't totally own. When Chris Nolan needs exposition or emotional dialogue delivered, he usually goes for Alfred to deliver it. That's the power of having Caine in your movie. This one is my absolute favourite.
