Yahoo Movies have debuted a new image (above) from Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, coming to theaters everywhere on December 14th. The image features Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins entertaining a bunch of dwarves, which from left to right are Bifur (William Kircher), Dwalin (Graham McTavish), Bofur (James Nesbitt) and Oin (John Callen). Hopefully that will go some way to tiding you over until we get a new one-sheet poster for the film, which although it is the best part of a year away, I still think we are close to seeing one to help build our anticipation for the festive release. Other news from The Hobbit doing the rounds right now are comments made by Evangeline Lilly to Entertainment Weekly where she reveals her role in the first movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is minimal but she has a much more expanded part in the sequel. She says;
"She€™s not in the first film very much. She comes into the first film near the end, and has a very small part to play. Her role in the second film is much more involved. Although, I have to say, when I first read the scripts and took the job, she had a lot less going on in the second film. I think the role is becoming a bit more demanding than I had expected it to be. There€™s a lot more for me to do now, which is a lot of fun, but it€™s a little more pressure."
The former Lost star also elaborated on details about her character;
"... she is a warrior. She€™s actually the head of the Elven guard. She€™s the big shot in the army. So she knows how to wield any weapon, but the primary weapons that she uses are a bow and arrow and two daggers. And she€™s lethal and deadly. You definitely wouldn€™t want to be caught in a dark alley next to Tauriel."
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is coming December 14th.
