There's a lot Jason Statham can do, and do brilliantly. He can punch, he can kick, he can smash a bottle over your head. But his performances, outside of the exemplary action man stuff, can get mired, waste-deep in gravel. He's a bit one-note, and sometime his face doesn't sem to be alive. Which makes him particularly funny in this trailer for Paul Feig's new movie, Spy. He's the hardcore, battle-toughened agent giving a hard time to Melissa McCarthy as the neophyte, Susan Cooper. Watch the new trailer for the movie, below;I think this has better chance of crossover appeal than The Heat - by which I mean, a lot of young men rejected The Heat, despite it having a lot of excellent qualities, first amongst which was that it was actually funny. So Spy could make an absolute heap of gold at the box office. And talking of which, here's a new poster for the film, riffing on Goldfinger with a little help from Photoshop. Also starring Jude Law, Spy opens in the UK and US on June 5th.
