The new trailer for Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 has arrived, bringing with it our best look yet at the upcoming movie.

After being hidden away for most of the marketing so far, there's plenty of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow on show here, in both the iteration we love (or hate) and a younger take on the character (thanks to some interesting CGI work), meaning we should - in part - be seeing some of his origins.

The trailer, which debuted on The Ellen Show, also goes heavy on Javier Bardem's Salazar, the villain of the piece. We learn more about his motivations here - the movie is called Salazar's Revenge in the UK, and now we know why - and they're pretty similar to those of his character from Skyfall.

Elsewhere there's more of Kaya Scodelario Carina, who is basically the new Elizabeth Swann, and Brenton Thwaites' Henry, who is effectively the new Will Turner. The actual Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom, doesn't appear this time around. There's also a nice amount of Geoffrey Rush's Barbosa, who will probably die in this movie, and the recently revealed zombie sharks - which doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but still: zombie sharks!

Despite the diminishing returns of the movies (in quality at least) it's still hard not to be sucked back in, with a lot of fun and charm about them. And in fairness, this one does genuinely look like a step-up in quality, and hues very closely to Curse of the Black Pearl in both tone and plot.

Interesting it's also being billed as 'The Final Adventure'. Until this one takes over $1bn, anyway...
