Producer Reveals Details on Princess Diana's Bodyguard Biopic
"Unless you are a Diana freak, quite a lot of it will be unknown to the audience. The movie’s not saying she is unbelievably wonderful or she’s a pain in the neck, the audience can make their own view."
We are dealing with about 11 years of her life from after she had Harry, when hes aged about two, and its partly from the point of view of her protection bodyguard. The emphasis of this really is authenticity and to discover what she went through. Unless you are a Diana freak, quite a lot of it will be unknown to the audience. The movies not saying she is unbelievably wonderful or shes a pain in the neck, the audience can make their own view.Evans has been working closely on developing the movie with Commander Patrick Jephson, Diana's private secretary. The movie would bypass the relationship she shared with Dodi Fayed or any of the conspiracy theories about her death in Paris. Despite the long-set rumours of Theron & McGregor, Evans has admitted casting is a 'closed book we get her'... who 'her' is we can't be 100% sure on. There have been some more recently that has linked Carey Mulligan to the project, probably as Diana. Meanwhile, there are two other Princess Diana movies in development right now. Pathé films have for a long time wanted Keira Knightley to take on a much broader biopic of the late Princess but Knightley was smart enough to do The Duchess instead (about a Diana like figure of yesteryear) and has been stalling on offers for years. Then there's Caught in Flight, a biopic from Ecosse Films that focuses on the post-Charles divorce years from 1995 and up to Dianas death in 1997 and her secret affair with Dr. Hasnat Khan, regarded by some to be the true love of her life. Starring Jessica Chastain in the leading role and written by The Libertine scribe Steven Jeffreys, the film would be directed by German filmmaker Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall) this year if a distributor can be found.
