Have we been transported back in time to the 1980's or what? I mean there's Die Hard 4.0 on the horizon, another Bond restart with a darker tone and new actor (i.e. Timothy Dalton's attempt in 1987 with "The Living Daylights"), another Indiana Jones movie in the works and TWO Slyvester Stallone action movie franchies back on our screens. I thought it was a bad idea when Stallone annouced that he was to direct and star in another Rocky movie, but i'm slowly coming round to the idea after seeing the trailer and poster images. But mark my words, this is defintly a VERY VERY BAD IDEA. Why on earth does Stallone think that anybody would be interested in seeing Rambo on screen in 2007. (actually in my film class, there is this old guy who every line of speech he ever says is a line from either a Stallone or Arnie movie, so i guess he will be happy at least). I mean can anyone picture a Rambo movie back on screens? With all the trouble we are having in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can't see anyone flocking to see it when their is British and American soldiers being killed. I mean the Rambo movies (which i hate by the the way) were very cheesy and kinda taking the piss at ourselves humour, which I think would just offend people today. Here are the details taken from DarkHorizons.com "Art Monterastelli ("The Hunted") co-wrote the script with Stallone which finds Rambo living a monastic lifestyle in Bangkok and salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. When a group of volunteers bringing supplies into Burma disappears, a relative of one of the missing missionaries begs Rambo to find them. He heads off with a team of young guns to find them". Well i think it sounds terrible. It's difficult to judge if it will do well at the box office or not, could go either way. My guess? It will be a big hit but the movie will be shockingly bad. For some reason Action movie with Stallone = Money!
