If one is afraid of nature in this profession then it would be best to find a different job,Picturesque Iceland will be the crews new home for the next 2 weeks after the London leg of the shoot was completed days earlier. Scott stated 15 minutes of the final film would be featuring the nations otherworldly landscape, with Dettisfloss Waterfall as just one of the many location included. Filming began yesterday at Hekla Volcano, which was reportedly ready to erupt so the world media said, luckily for all you Alien fans out there it didnt, although theres more chance of an eruption occurring than Scott revealing any actual plot details. Possible spoilers below of what Scott is shooting, to reveal you will need to hover over text but otherwise skip to next paragraph; The director confirmed that Iceland will not play the starring role in Prometheus: It will be 15 minutes in total, if all goes to plan. We are shooting the beginning of time. Prometheus began as an Alien prequel, which would explore the unknown alien race that appeared briefly in the 1979 classic as the skeleton spaceship pilot - you know the enormous, dead creature with a hole in its ribcage? However the script slowly moulded into a new franchise of its own, with its own mythology and what Ridley Scott quotes as merely strands of Aliens DNA still in it. The film has an elite ensemble including; Noomi Rapace (Lisbeth of the Millennium series), Charlize Theron, Idris Elba,Michael Fassbender, Ben Foster and Guy Pearce, as well as some great up and coming British talent with Sean Harris (Harry Brown, Red Riding Trilogy), Benedict Wong (Sunshine, Moon) and Rafe Spall (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz). Ridleys long awaited return to the genre has sparked a lot of interest in the film world, as the likes of Alien and Blade Runner which elevated his career are over 30 years old now. The script is in the safe hands of Damon Lindelof (Lost) and with the stellar cast, the super secrecy and drip feeding of information; well Im counting down the days till Prometheuss June 8th 2012 release.
