Sarsgaard and Farmiga adopt an ORPHAN

Variety say another OMEN rip-off is in the works, with Vera Farmiga again on board to star, this time alongside Peter Sarsgaard. The movie is titled ORPHAN and it's been setup by Joel Silver at Dark Castle Entertainment, with the director behind the 2005 remake of HOUSE OF WAX on board to helm. The story revolves around a husband and wife who lose a baby and then adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be. David Lee Johnson has wrote the script. According to IMDB, he has no writing background in film and has only worked in assistant jobs on various film projects such as Frank Darabont's THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and THE GREEN MILE. Shooting begins next week in Montreal and there's nothing about the past record of anyone involved in this movie to suggest it's going to be any good. HOUSE OF WAX was awful, Farmiga's JOSHUA looked equally pathetic and Joel Silver is known for giving the go-ahead to some drivel. One to avoid me thinks.
