as they did today). Throughout the month leading up to the showing more clues are released and the identity of the film becomes clear closer to the date. Once it is clear people prepare their costumes and rock up in attire suited to the film to the specified location which is dressed as a set from the movie. To say that it is awesome would be a huge understatement! Since launching in December 2007, Secret Cinema, which is run by Future Shorts, has been blurring the boundaries between audience and spectator.

€œWith Secret Cinema the audience don't just passively inhabit the world of a film - the carefully crafted world puts them at its heart, allowing them to determine their level of involvement. It generously offers an opportunity to inhabit the film, to play, and to emote with the actors in a seemingly unrestricted environment€€
In December 2007 over 400 people gathered under London Bridge for their inaugural event, a screening of Gus Van Sant€™s Paranoid Park; since then they have continued to grow rapidly, showing some of the all-time classics of cinema in style. Last November they showed €˜One Flew over the Cuckoo€™s Nest€™ at Princess Louise€™ hospital! People went dressed as mental patients; they were met by actors dressed as orderlies and doctors and escorted to the hospital that looked just like the Oregon asylum featured in the film. Other previous outings saw Wood Wharf turned into the dystopian Los Angeles of 2019 for the screening of Ridley Scott€™s sci-fi masterwork Blade Runner. And most recently the Old Vic Tunnels at Waterloo were turned into an Algerian battleground for the screening of €˜Battle of Algiers€™, which over 14 000 people attended. The clue below is the only information that has been released regarding the screening on December 6th.
