HBO have released a snow-covered short teaser titled 'Winter is Coming' for their new medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin's bestselling swords & magic series A Song of Fire and Ice. It's a teaser to ease us into the mood of the world, rather than a one that explains anything. The epic tale follows the violent dynastic struggles of an empire in turmoil and centers on a noble family whose patriarch (Sean Bean) is thrusted in as the king's new right-hand man. Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Iain Glen co-star in what is a huge ensemble supporting Bean.The ten episode series, based on Martin's first of a planned 7 books (of which 5 have so far been published) all of which is hoped can be made into a 10 episode season, will screen early 2011.
