Here I present the last thirty years of Oscar winning songs. I wish I could have gone further, but I fear it would have been too long a playlist. I have to be honest here; I have included the proper versions of the winning Disney songs- nothing can beat Sebastian singing Under the Sea far as Im concerned. Sets a bit of a precedent doesnt it? Pretty much every time a Disney movie is nominated it wins- and usually rightly so. Say what you want about the company, they certainly know how to make an uplifting song. Im just thankful theyre back in the mix after 2006s winning effort Its Hard Out Here For a Pimp- worst Oscar winner ever. This years nominated efforts dont exactly inspire much passion but I seriously think Peter Gabriels Down to Earth deserves the gong against the two SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE picks.
