Singleton wants Harrelson as Murdock in THE A-TEAM!

Oh, I like it. This is pretty neat casting. John Singleton, the man in charge of THE A-TEAM has told Collider that although no-one has been cast in his adaptation of the cool 80's t.v. show just yet (which is probably news to Ice Cube who seems convinced he is B.A. Baracus) he has made it known he wants to cast Woody Harrelson as 'Howlin' Mad Murdock'.

I love it. Murdock was the craziest member of the crew and is exactly the kind of character that Woody has played countless of times on screen in the past. In fact casting Woody might be so good, it's just too obvious and should set a nice tone for the rest of the cast... as he's a big name and an established actor who is very popular around Hollywood. Singleton's interview with the site also removes some of the worries we have all had since the film was first given the green light...
It€™s not a comic movie farce like Starsky and Hutch, it€™s kind of in the tradition of the 80€™s action pictures, the man€™s movies like Die Hard, Predator, Commando, or even Lethal Weapon €“ more so than anything else. The action is very serious, but there is humor. The script is done, the guys who re-wrote it made 3:10 to Yuma happen wrote it. That€™s why I signed on, the guys Michael Brandt and Derek Haas wrote the script, a new draft of it, they did 3:10 to Yuma and 2 Fast 2 Furious with me, so that€™s why I signed on to it.
This guy is ticking all the right boxes right here.

You all know I loved 3:10 TO YUMA and if the script from those guys is anywhere near as solid as that movie and if Singleton is telling the truth about the kind of movies he is wanting to imitate, then this could be one hell of a cool movie.

No word yet on the film's rating or the budget, but by the sounds of it Singleton doesn't want the movie to be a tame action vehicle. Though I would be wary of going the way of RAMBO and making it violent for violent's sake.

Script is ready so this one could be a go in the next few months.
