The very first teaser trailer for Matt Reeves' The Batman dropped on Saturday, and it's safe to say the film is shaping up to be something special.

Reeves' film, which stars Robert Pattinson as the titular Caped Crusader, will see Batman fend off against numerous villains including the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoƫ Kravitz) and, perhaps more significantly, the Riddler (Paul Dano).

Batman's famous green-clad master of puzzles takes centre stage in the film's first teaser, and resembles something more akin to a Fincher-esque nightmare than simply a wise-cracking trickster. True to form, in The Batman, the character continues to leave behind Riddles for the Dark Knight to solve.

Well, turns out we don't need Batman to solve them, because someone has already sussed what the first riddle actually means.

On Twitter, Lone Shark Games' Mike Selinker not only figured out the puzzle, but then also provided a "brute force" solution to confirm his answer.

The riddle itself poses the question "what does a liar do when he's dead?" The answer is classic Riddler, but here's the full solution from Selinker that confirms what the answer actually is:

So, there you have it, the answer to the riddle is "he lies still". At least we know the Riddler is back up to his old punny ways again! (Although with the added caveat of wrapping people's faces up in tape, which is, you know, quite dark.)
