Star Wars: 10 Awesome And Nerdy Fan Creations

By Carl Jansson /

I don't know about you, but I spend an obscene amount of time on the internet. Whether I''m checking the latest comic news, researching for my latest story, or just looking for funny stuff to post on social media, I'm always on the net. For every four or five hours I find myself wasting reading about the history of Sriracha hot sauce on Wikipedia, I usually stumble upon something so amazing, so awesome, that it makes the fact I skipped lunch to read about the 10 Worst Movies To Watch With Your Mom all the more worth it. These are ten of those awesome somethings worth stumbling upon, if you're a fan of the greatest trilogy. And no, I'm not talking about the Look Who's Talking trilogy, even though it is pretty awesome too. This list includes fan films, books, costumes, artwork, and toys, and other constructions. They are not ranked in any special order, as they were all too cool to single out. Read on to see 10 portrayals of amazing fan dedication.

10. Floating Jedi Lightsaber Training Remote

Remember when Luke Skywalker was first starting his Lightsaber training on the way to Alderaan, under the tutelage of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi? After seeing that for the first time, who didn't want that cool laser spitting floating ball? While obviously not as amazing as the actual one Luke spars against aboard the Millennium Falcon in A New Hope, Youtube user TroopTrent has in fact built his very own, still very cool, hovering Jedi Lightsaber Training Remote Droid. In the video he shows us, mostly, how he did it. It was built from a spinning globe and random spare parts, and hovers due to a very simple process involving magnets. It may not swerve and spin around the room, and it definitely doesn't fire laser blasts, but it makes a great display piece and conversation starter. I'm clearing a space for one as we speak. He also has a life size R2 unit that sings along with the Village People, for some reason.
