Star Wars Rogue One: Director Krennic's Shuttle Revealed At Celebration

Behold, the coolest new ship in the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

By Simon Gallagher /

There's a grand history of villains getting their own cool ships in Star Wars, and Ben Mendehlson's mysterious Director Krennic is joining the crew with his own awesome geometric shuttle. Thanks to Star Wars: Celebration, where our own Alex Leadbeater is currently exploding with unbridled joy.

The Imperial shuttle (which was actually leaked a couple of weeks back as part of the LEGO tie-ins, but pulled offline when the toy makers got mad) is a stunning, angular addition to the catalogue of ships.

it also fits the agenda to look striking without looking like it's more advanced than the technology and ships already revealed as canon from the original trilogy.

There's also an official description for the ship below:

Hie "elite troopers" sounds a lot like he has his own type of landing force. That much is confirmed in the descrpton of the Imperial Death Troopers, who are part of the Empire's Intelligence unit. Which makes their terrifying name a little strange (though if you're looking to strike fear into your enemy, you should definitely call your Gestapo-like unit something memorable...

The exhibition also revealed a better look at the beautiful looking TIE Striker, the sleeker version of the TIE Fighter that might well be my new favourite Star Wars ship.

There's a description for that one too...

So we're likely to see some TIE battles in the atmosphere above the beach then. That sounds pretty bloody exciting.
