Star Wars: The Last Jedi Deleted Scene Reveals Rey's Third Lesson

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey undertakes her training in the ways of the Force but, like Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back, she appears to leave without completing it.
Luke, in his role as her reluctant mentor, tells the would-be Jedi that he'll give her three lessons. The first is her learning about how big the Force is and that it doesn't belong to just the Jedi, and the second is about the damage the Jedi's hubris caused. There's no official third lesson on-screen though, with her vision in the Dark Side cave and conversation with Kylo Ren taking its place.
That third lesson was shot, however, but left on the cutting room floor. Details of it emerged last month, via /Film, and as described it sees Rey noticing boats landing on the island. Luke tells her these are bandits who regularly plunder the island and terrorise the Caretakers. Rey naturally wants to stop them, but Luke tells her that'll only do more harm than good, and a true Jedi wouldn't interfere.
Rey disagrees, and runs along the beach with lightsaber in hand - which was a fairly prominent shot in the marketing - only to find that Luke had lied to her. When she gets there it's actually a party, featuring Chewie, R2-D2, and the Porgs, and we can now see that play out thanks to a snippet on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show:
It looks like an emotionally-charged scene, with an anguished Rey telling Luke "that old legend of Luke Skywalker that you hate so much, I believed in it." Johnson, however, cut it as he felt it made Luke too unlikable. Given Luke's arc has already proved very divisive that's not an unfair call, and while it would've been nice to see more of Rey's training, it doesn't add too much that isn't already there in the film.
