Stiller casts Owen Wilson for comedy, Oh what a shock!

It will be the 8th time the pair have worked together now.

I hate Owen Wilson as an actor. I hate the characters he plays (well the one character he repeats for every role) and I always hate the movies he appears in. I think it's his whiny voice and his comedy routine which is ten years past it's sell by date. I was watching The Matrix a couple of weeks back. You all remember that seen when Hugo Weaving is interrogating Laurence Fishburne and Weaving is telling him how much the The Matrix is driving him insane? Well that's what Owen Wilson does to me, and the idea of having to see him in a movie gives me a horrible cold feeling. Variety are reporting that Ben Stiller has cast Owen Wilson in his comedy movie Tropic Thunder. This will be the 8th time the pair have worked together for a movie.
The Ben Stiller-directed DreamWorks comedy is about a group of actors who go on location to shoot a war movie, only to find that reality replicates their plot.
Also cast is veteran actor Nick Nolte who joins the previously cast Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Jay Baruchel, Steve Coogan, Matt Levin and more including Ben Stiller himself in what has been described as an ensemble comedy. Actually not the worst idea for a comedy then, and my anticipation for a Tarantino WWII team-up flick might just get me interested in seeing it done in a comedy style. You have to say Stiller has got a decent cast together here, even if it does include Owen Wilson! Shooting begins in the summer in Hawaii and Los Angeles.
