After Zack Snyder's Justice League became a reality, David Ayer teased fans with his original vision of Suicide Squad (2016), posting never before seen pictures on social media. At this time it's not known if Warner Bros. is really interested in releasing the so called "Ayer Cut", but apparently some actors involved with the original film are curious to see it.

Among them is Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn. During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast (via ComicBook) the actress stated:

"I never saw the Ayer Cut. I mean, I know we shot a lot of stuff that didn't make it into the movie. I would be very curious myself".

Some DC fans have been vocal on the topic of a Suicide Squad re-cut, launching a #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement that gained attention online. If the Snyder Cut ends up being a financial success on HBO Max, who's to say the Ayer Cut won't come next?

Margot Robbie reprised the role of Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey (2020) and will do so once again in The Suicide Squad (2021), a reboot/sequel directed by James Gunn. The movie will present some connections to the one directed by Ayer, but present a new group of villains and a brand new story.
