The poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning has hit the web. The movie is set to be released in October and is a prequel to the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was itself a remake of the original 1974 Tobe Hooper classic. Click here to view the poster. I thought the 2003 remake was Ok but not great, certainly not warranting another film. It added very little new to the original movie and whatever it did change simply wasn't as good. The 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my favourite horror films of all time and recent attempts to imitate it such as Hostel have failed and sucked badly in my opinion. Hopefully this prequel will be able to create and sustain the creepy suspensful tone of the original which has seriously been lacking in horror movies since The Blair Witch Project. source - dark horizons
