The Batman: Actually, Ben Affleck HASN'T Signed On For A Trilogy

Calm down, it's all bullsh*t.

Despite what the entire Internet seems to be saying, there's no way Ben Affleck has signed on for The Batman and two more films leading up to Batman Beyond. It sounds exciting - only because it's different - but it's a pure fabrication, as corroborated by Batman-News.

The whole thing sounded fishy from the outset, not least because Ben Affleck has been very obviously circling a DCEU exit. For him to suddenly decide he wants to do three movies when he's a director in his own right and will have lots of other projects in mind is just illogical. He has one movie left on his DCEU contract, and you should probably not expect that to be extended any time soon.

Frustratingly, it's also not that difficult to immediately note how made up the rumour is. It was posted on a South African news site called Fortress Of Solitude, by an author called Edward Nigma (yep, the Riddler) and seems to have fabricated purely to drive traffic to the site.

Look at the story: it cites an unnamed source who shared the following insight:

“Yeah, he [Affleck] is staying on as the Batman. There were contract issues, but everything’s sorted now. He’ll do Reeves’ trilogy which sets up Batman Beyond, which will be the next phase of the DC film universe."

Hogwash! Rhubarb! Garbage!

Still, lots of people seem to have fallen for it and are reporting it as fact. Fake news from the failing gutter press, as Mr Trump would no doubt delight in saying.
